So why are rear facing car seats better? It's simple, most car accidents are frontal collisions, in which a child forward facing would be jolted forward, causing the child to
put pressure on their neck, spine and vital organs. Whereas if the child was rear facing they would only be forced further into their car seat causing hardly and pressure at all.
Parents are advised to keep their children rear facing for as long as possible as it's a lot safer in a collision.

Once again, Battersea makes its mark in Germany among the biggest manufacturers in the world. David and Henry from Micralite have had a busy year with the launch of the all new Micralite Toro, the Airflow carry cot and now the Twofold which is due in 2012. The concept is simple but effective, take a Superlight, add a rear wheel configuration which can lengthen the wheel base with the simple flick of your foot and you have the Twofold. The best part is a rider board is included in the package so does not have to be retro fitted. Need a second seat or some storage then no problems here. Just add the second seat kit or 25 liter bag which is supplied with the Twofold.

New Phil and Teds Promenade coming soon - Peppermint London

The New Phil and Teds Promenade will be arriving in the UK soon.

The Phil and Teds Promenade is a move away from the traditional Phil and Teds stroller still very much inline but in a more functional way, first impressions and the Promenade looks bigger but put it up against one of its competitors and it soon feels small again offering fantastic stride length and the ability to face the parent when you have one child on board.

With the Promenade Phil and Teds have wanted to keep the amount of kit to a minimum. They have integrated the newborn cot units into the seats, not the first time this has been done but it is slick on the Promenade, two clips and your baby will be laying flat I can see this feature being used for sleeps when children are over 6 months and sitting up. The Promenade will also have all the usual features such as a height adjustable handlebar, car seat compatibility with Besafe or Maxi Cosi and chassis lock when folding.
